A timely and intimate portrait of an elderly, female, immigrant community in Britain. In 1972, the president of Uganda Idi Amin forced all Ugandan-Asians to leave within 90 days. Nearly 50 years on, through acting and performance, we see the struggle to maintain and pass on traditions, the tensions between the generations and the long term impact of forced migration. This uplifting and subtle short documentary shows that ‘Home Is’ not just a place, it’s a balancing act between acceptance and difference.
